Grants to USA nonprofit organizations and public agencies for unconventional and innovative strategies to promote health. Funding is intended for creative and original strategies that support the Fund's mission of fostering a culture of health in the nation. The goal of the program is to explore; to look into the future and put health first in designing for changes in how we live, learn, work and play; and to wade into uncharted territory to better understand what new trends, opportunities, and breakthrough ideas can enable everyone in America to live the healthiest life possible.

While improving the status quo is vital to the health and well-being of millions of Americans now, the Pioneering Ideas Brief Proposal opportunity reaches beyond incremental changes to explore the ideas and trends that will influence the trajectory and future of health. Ultimately, the RWJF supports work that will help them learn what a Culture of Health can look like and how that may be achieved.

The Foundation is open to ideas on a range of topics, from emerging technologies to pioneering strategies for changing norms and behaviors. They are interested in funding a number of different project types, including research, pilots or demonstration projects, idea sourcing, network or coalition building, and more.

The Foundation is working to help achieve health equity and expand opportunity to pursue the best health possible, through investments in four broad areas:
- Health Systems
- Healthy Communities
- Healthy Children and Families
- Leadership for Better Health

For additional information about these focus areas, see: https://www.rwjf.org/en/our-focus-areas.html
