Grants to USA nonprofit organizations with the capacity to work with Alaska Native villages to enforce protection orders. Funding is intended to train law enforcement personnel, prosecutors and other government lawyers, and court personnel on the enforcement of tribal protection orders related to violence against women. In addition, the grantee will provide training and technical assistance for tribal courts and communities on issuance and enforcement of protection orders.
In FY 2019, funds under the Alaska Full Faith and Credit Training and Technical Assistance Initiative (the Alaska Full Faith and Credit Initiative) must be used to improve the enforcement of tribal protection orders in Alaska. Applications should propose the following activities:
Applicants that receive funding under this initiative will be required to engage in the following activities in addition to conducting training under both of the purpose areas described above:
