Grants to USA and Latin America nonprofit organizations for programs to benefit residents in eligible countries. Applicants are required to submit a Letter of Inquiry prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended to support projects in the areas of education, democratic governance, and sustainable resource management. Funding is also intended for projects focused on the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of Latin America, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Funded activities may include, but are not restricted to, community engagement and capacity-building, applied research, measurement and evaluation activities, and workshops and conferences related to the Foundation’s areas of interest. The Foundation welcomes collaboration among organizations in Latin America and prefers to fund institutions that are actively engaged with a broad array of stakeholders impacted by the identified challenge.

The typical range is between $50,000 to $150,000 per year. The Foundation also welcomes requests for smaller grants in support of more bounded projects or to complement other resources.
The Foundation provides support for a maximum of 36 months.
