REHABILITATION CENTER PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL REHABILITATION SERVICES TO HELP PEOPLE RECOVER ABILITIES QUALITY OF LIFE AFTER A STROKE, SPINAL CORD INJURY, TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE OR ORTHOPEDIC DISORDER. SINCE 1975, REHAB HAS TREATED MORE THAN 1,000 PERSONS PER YEAR IN ITS STATE-OF-THE-ART INPATIENT REHABILITATION , TENS OF THOUSANDS PER YEAR IN OUTPATIENT CARE FACILITIES. THE CENTER ALSO PROVIDES HOUSING FOR SEVERELY DISABLED PERSONS, A HOST OF SUPPORT SERVICES TO ADDRESS THE LIFELONG NEEDS OF DISABLED CITIZENS. IT IS THE ONLY REHABILITATION CENTER IN THE STATE REGION THAT PROVIDES THIS COMPREHENSIVE LEVEL OF REHABILITATION CARE.

The Centers mission is to advocate for and secure full inclusion and empowerment for the LGBTQ+ community in the Pine Belt of Mississippi through the provision of resources, community support, and direct action.

TO HELP LOW-INCOME FAMILIES.

SUPPORTS MISSION OF MISSISSIPPI METHODIST REHABILITATION CENTER, PROVIDING FUNDING FOR AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES, AND TECHNOLOGY, RELATED TO RECOVERY OF FUNCTION FROM DISABLING ILLNESSES AND INJURIES, INCLUDING STROKE, BRAIN INJURY, SPINAL CORD INJURY AND LOSS OF LIMB.

The purposes of CMDSS are:1. Provide an understanding of (DS) thru the dissemination of information to families, professionals, and others interested in DS.2. To provide non-professional services, support and advocacy to individuals with DS and their family members and caregivers.3. To provide opportunities for fellowship and interation for individuals affected by or interested in DS.4. To increase awareness and acceptance of individuals with DS.5. To protect and promote the rights of people with DS, including but not limited to, their rights to achieve their full potential and to fully participate in all aspects of community life.

Receives unplaceable animals from local shelters; cares for, treats transports dogs/cats to no kill shelters in other parts of the country; rehabs abused horses. In 2020, transported more than 1,730 animals.
